Marjolein Katsma

Groningen, Netherlands

I have two passions: travel and photography, often combined. Though as a photographer, even in my own city I often have a camera with me!...

My world, my eyes

I have two passions: travel and photography – and these are often combined.
My major subject is ‘Cultural Surfaces’ -
in short: how people build and use buildings.
Even in my own city (Groningen) I often have a camera with me: where there are buildings, there are subjects.

Share the love! (but do not pin!)

Tell your family, friends, or the world what you like: this button provides links to email or post to many different sites:

Share this page...   You’ll find the same button on each image page.

Or, you could buy greeting cards, or a poster or print to hang on your wall or a gift for a loved one, and share that way! Or, check out my calendars – a calendar can start any month of the year!

Can’t decide? See what others bought!

Please do not ‘pin’ my images, or otherwise copy them to image ‘sharing’ sites like Pinterest; not even those which are released with a Creative Commons license.
Proper credit tends to get lost on such sites (which would violate even the CC license), and in the case of Pinterest you’d be claiming you own the right to give this image to them to use as they please: you don’t have that right (only I do, and I won’t), so you’d be committing fraud.

None of the images posted here are in the public domain. Eventually, all images will be released under a Creative Commons license, but both attribution and ‘share alike’ will always apply as conditions.

Note: Some of the links below currently bring up more than the intended photographs, because RedBubble chose to stop using actual tags for selecting the images. It will take some time to repair this – my apologies…

I just nuked my 'BubbleSite'...

…and good riddance, I say! / Less Confusion / Yes, seriously. I’ve watched several people trying to use it (picking up the URL as I had it on my business card and sticky notes). It was terribly confusing to them, even if I told them in advance that this was a way to get to my ‘real’ RedBubble site. / If you want people to view your photographs, you do not want to confuse t…

I found the list of ‘features’ etc. on my profile page was too long, and confusing and overwhelming for visitors. I have not maintained it for ages anyway, as that was too much work as well! The only thing I keep up with (in my profile) is ‘featured member’. Features in groups and challenge wins and placements are always recorded in the image description anyway, so the in…

About change, and 'Change aversion'

That RedBubble’s new design (or ‘design’) is a major change will not be denied by anyone. / Some people like it, some don’t, some are angry because things they need to do simply take much longer – and not only through unfamiliarity, but because the User Interface has changed in a way that tasks are simply harder to accomplish. Some have commented it’s just that…
