This stained glass window is in the Albert Street Uniting Church, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia

The Albert Street Uniting Church is in the heart of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Opened in 1889 as a Methodist church, in 1977 the congregation voted to join with other kindred Christian churches to become part of the Uniting Church in Australia. In 1907 the church formed the Wesley Mission Brisbane to aid the poor and homeless and is now engaged in a large rang of support activities in the community.

The organ was built in 1889 by George Benson of Manchester, UK and has 2250 pipes. The gothic arches of the church are made from cedar and oregon woods. Devotional paintings are the work of Cees Sliedreight, many of the stained glass windows were presented as memorials of past leaders of the church with a set of windows in the upper gallery coming from the previous Albert Street Church (1856-1889). Nine windows honour men who lost their lives in war. Plaques around the walls commemorate church ministers and leaders, the Order of Knights, a Christian boy’s group and you group active between 1914 and 1987, and people from the church who served in the First World War.
