This rock is being held in place by a strangler fig tree. The seeds of the figs are carried to the tops of rainforest trees by birds and those which lodge in the tree branches grow downwards and around the host tree which eventually dies and disintergrates leaving a network of aerial roots of the fig giving the appearance of a tree.

Strangler Figs are Australian Native Plants
