This chapel is one of Columbia University buildings. The photo is taken from Amsterdam Street. .

In 1903, sisters Olivia Egleston Phelps Stokes and Caroline Phelps Stokes offered to finance the chapel on condition their nephew, Isaac Newton Phelps Stokes, design the building.

Construction began in 1904 and finished in 1907. St Paul’s has one of the most intricately designed glasswork in all of New York city. The three stained glass chancel windows showcase a scene of St Paul preaching to the Athenians on Mars Hill.

St Paul’s was one of the first buildings to be designated a Landmark in New York city.
