Artist's Description

Taken on my recent trip back to New Zealand. The Southern Alps run down the ‘backbone’ of the South Island. They are magnificent to photograph at any time of the year but especially so in Spring as the snow recedes and the color in the tussock and grasses and foliage can be seen. And on the edge of the Canterbury Plains before you hit the mountains proper you get wonderful shots of the fields full of color depending on the crops. A day here with the camera always does my soul good. Nikon D90 handheld 135mm f/5.6 1/1600s ISO 250

Another shot on a shoot a couple of years earlier.
