Artist's Description

This is one of the very modern buildings in Federation Square, Melbourne, Australia. The Square is controversial due to its striking, but unusual, design using large panels and claddings of sandstone, zinc and glass. The sandstone ‘walls’ are all triangular tiles with windows stuck in at odd places, and the lower edges of the walls ‘jagged’ rather than straight as they come down towards the ground. The buildings were opened in 2002 amid much controversy but in the years since they have become accepted and the Square is a place of much activity and exciting events. It is one of the most visited spots in the State of Victoria. Photo shot with Nikon D80, 18-200 VR Zoom f14, 1/200 ISO800 handheld
