Artist's Description

Whilst visiting Melbourne, where I grew up, I visited the place where my horse, Trinity, died. He was my horse from when I was just an 11year old kid until I was a 23 year old uni student.

Trin got colic, and, after trying everything possible, the vet had to put him down. It was very hard. Afterwards, and just on dusk, all the other horses in the paddock (his friends) gathered around him in a circle to pay their respects. My mum and I went and stood with them in this silent ceremony. At the end, the horses suddenly took off, bolting up the hill.

I returned to the paddocks, all these years later, and took this photo of the horses that are there now. To get the photo to reflect how I feel, I played around with it in Photoshop, and added layers of one of my paintings, Darkened Inferno
