Invisible Storm Brewing

The willow tree marked her favorite shady spot. Hiding there from her reality, taking solace from the responsibilities of being, well, being the invisible storm.

Some days her mother would not even know she was alive. There were others when Summer could not escape. Nothing was right.

Summer’s intuition told her which day it would be, and her small frame and entire being would focus on escape. It may be only for a day, but escape it was.

Until mother found her spot and Summer feared – there would be no more solace.

Her mother grabbed her hair and dragged her into the house; a scene played out before.

But tonight, as Summer carefully placed the gold chain around her mother’s neck, she knew she would not stop pulling.

Summer pulled the chain thinking only of her shady willow tree. She was as she had always been: the invisible storm.
