Artist's Description

Phyllognathia ceratophthalmus
Tulamben, Bali, Indonesia

These shrimps hide amongst the muck of silty sand, sponges and seaweed where their many spines and spots confuse their outlines so that potential predators will not recognize them as tasty morsels.

Shot with a Canon 7DmkII camera and 100mm macro lens in an Aquatica housing with dual Ikelite DS125 strobes
