Artist's Description

Gymnothorax zonipectis, 2 feet long, 20 feet deep
Wainilu dive site, Rinca Island, Komodo National Park, Indonesia

This eel shelters in a small cave, with only his head showing. While he may look threatening with his mouth wide open, morays do this just to breathe easier.

Shot with a Canon 7D camera and 100mm macro lens in an Aquatica housing with dual Ikelite DS-125 strobes.
