Here's what's been going on with me...

For the past year (perhaps more depending on your personal opinion) I’ve been having a bit of photographers block. I was pregnant during one of the hottest summers I think I’ve ever had to endure in my entire life. So there was one road block. Contributing to said road block was the fact that my car had no AC in it. I did, however, get to participate in the meetup that OKC Photographers meetup group planned. Mostly because it was at night and it was windy and at the time I was only semi-huge. I thought I’d share some of the images from that shoot. It was a lot of fun!

So after that adventure I grew to be enormous and totally house bound thanks to swelled feet and absurd heat. So then my “trigger finger” was getting itchy. I finally gave birth and I had intended to take a page from Anne Geddes book and photograph my daughter while she was sleeping etc. I have to say…I have no idea how she does it…but I found it an impossibility! Funny thing is that I managed to photograph my friends kids. Here is some of the photos from that shoot.

This was much harder than I thought it would be

Then I started to think…I would love to get a second camera. I ended up getting the Nikon D3100. Ahhh….LOVE IT! Of course, it was fairly recent so I am still learning it’s ways. Very different from the Sony A350. It has really cool in camera editing features. I love that it’s smaller than the A350. My lens that came with the a350 wasn’t quite as good. The Nikon bundle I got included the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm lens and the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 55-200mm lens. Which in my opinion are pretty good lenses. Anyway, before I start sounding like a commercial for Nikon, maybe I should just post some images I recently took using this camera. Feeling a little like the photographers block is lifting. Experimenting with this camera is just FUN!!!

this is a collage of images that was taken using the Nikon

my favorite

My husband recently took up an interest in photography also. So now I have a partner to be inspired with! Well that’s it for now. Happy shooting!
