Artist's Description

Black and white version of Phil and Don can be found here
Born in 1939, Phil Everly was the younger of the two Everly brothers. He and Don came from a musical family, typically country, but as they made their first success and number one in the Country charts with Bye Bye love, went on to release Wake up little Susie, All I have to do is dream, Bird Dog, and Problems, written by Felice and Boudleaux Bryant. They toured with Buddy Holly, and had an influence on the suits the Crickets wore. Holy wrote songs for them too.

Not unlike the Gallagher brothers, they had many famous fall outs, some of which lasted many years. They did however come together after many solo projects, for a concert in 1983 at the Albert Hall.
Phil died in January 2014 of COPD, caused by a lifetime of smoking.
A great loss to the world of fine music.
I hope to add brother Don to this portrait, though it may take me a few weeks to complete.
Drawn with Prismacolor pencils on Bristol Board extra smooth surface 250 gsm. A3 size.
