Zantedesschia aethiopica
Araceae

Evergreen perennial, up to 1.5 in length, with a rhizomatous tuber; occuring in fynbos, grassland, bushveld and along forest margins, usually in wet places.
A popular garden plant, extensively grown as a cut flowr, especially in New Zealand, with many cultivars ( also known as calla lilies).
Leaves cooked as a pot herb in times of famine.
Tubers formerly boiled and fed to pigs.
Leaves and tubers used in traditional medicine.
