WINGSPAN: Female 60-65mm Male 70-75mm
IDENTIFICATION: Male underside. Female with wings narrower than male, and yellow instead of white wing markings. Male strongly territorial; chases off setting intruders. Fond of flowers.
MIMICS: Several, e.g. False Wanderer.
DISTRIBUTION: Coastal, lowland and reverine bush and forest from Eastern Cape to KwaZulu-Natal, and Afromontane Forest of Mpumalanga and Limpopo Province.
HABITAT: Forest edges, parks and gardens, flatlands, coast.
FLIGHT PERIOD: Year-round, more common Oct/Nov-Mar.
LARVAL FOOD: Adenia gummifera, Passiflora edulis and P. coerulea.
