Lives in pairs: two or three pairs may share a resting place on the vertical surfaces of tree trunks, rock faces or walls where there is overhead shelter from sun and rain.
If disturb, clambers away around corners or into secluded places.
Remains alert during the day and may take off to catch butterflies flying nearby.
Food is eaten while hanging up away from the daytime roost.
Habitat: Woodland and forest edges and clearings.
Life history: Single young are born in summer.
