Artist's Description

Featured in “Nuts About Mutts” Group February 2010.

This shot was taken with Royal Roads College in the background. Royal Roads has been used for many movies. It has amazing grounds as well that look out across the water toward Victoria, BC.
Chevy was a supposed to be a mix of Rottweiler and Lab but I always thought that was not the case. There was a number of breeds in this dog that only his parents know about. Mind you they made a wonderful companion who only really wanted love and a warm place to sleep. He was rescued by us after our tenant moved out with all his belongings except his dog. He was just very scared in the kennels at the SPCA. He had been kept in a laundry room by his former owner with little interaction. So being trapped in small run with strangers staring at him made he growl and bark. He was deemed vicious and unadoptable by the SPCA. We offered to take him as he had been a great dog when he was at our home. It was not his fault his owner was a looser. He took many years to get over his fears of women. After much love and patience he learned that the world and the people in were good. He got to travel lots and go on may camping trips.
After 7 years with us we had to say goodbye. He is waiting for us on the other side with all our other animals that we have had, loved and lost over the years.
