Hide and Seek

Sometimes I am afraid to be seen.
Mostly I’m just an open book.
But when I’m with you I need to hide.
Though you are the one that cares to look.

I wonder why, could I be shy?
I don’t think that explains it all.
You stare at me, I pass you by.
Dare not return, despite your call.

Sometimes I am afraid to be seen.
Those times are with You. (Only I can know who.)
Your response is always far too keen.
But the fault lies with me, what else can I do?

Each time I must hide.
Each time you do seek.
You smile too wide.
It makes me feel weak.

Sometimes I am afraid to be seen.
Two endings can sprout from where I have been:
I will open my story for you to now see,
Or you will grow tired and old without me.

Sometimes I am afraid to see.

Artist's Description

It’s late. This is what I call gibberish.
I fell asleep at the computer briefly just now.
I wrote this, now I’m going to bed.
I don’t know what this is for.
