Based on a dream I had two years ago. The poppies and the cross in the foreground are the same as the ones in my Remembrance (using my origami poppies and cross since I didn’t have real ones). The background is composed of two images I took on the same day as Evening

I had the dream during the summer of 2009; during the final semester of my post secondary career. I had this dream the day after pulling my first all nighter during the term. Generally during the school terms I’m very stressed and I dread it. It was still the case this term, however this time, rather than panicking over deadlines and marks, I was looking forward to the end coming closer. More late nights followed this one, and as tiring as those were, the morning light in the studio was quite beautiful…
Poem written by me:
Gazing at the world in front of me,
The beauty I miss when the days are crazy.
So many battles going on,
And then so many lives are gone.
Violent aura heats the sky
A scarlet red from bodies that lie
On this earth to with they unite as one;
One cycle ends, and a new one has begun.
And when the sky gets cool the stars shine through;
No longer red but a dark calming blue.
Crimson mist rains back to the blood stained earth
Where the red poppies grow new life is given birth.
Thank you to all who have helped raise funds for Japan earthquake tsunami relief efforts
