Spring is one of my favorite times of the year, especially in the Northeast. A strong, but steady rain shower has just passed here on the farm. Crops having been planted, we wait with expectant hope a variety of nutrient-filled produce to behold from late spring through late fall. I truly believe that the most delicious cucumbers, sweet corn, potatoes and a host of other delectable items can be found on these well kept grounds.
The work of the farmers here remind me of God’s tender loving care for us. Sowing the seeds is a faith-filled process. The farmers do it year after year after year. God sends rain to water the land and sunshine to grow the crops. He cares for each little sprig through the farmers hands as they weed and encourage the plants to grow. I am also reminded that only God is in control of all things of life. Even the ability of these plants to thrive. Some years are more fruitful than others – but never is there a malnourished stomach to be found here. With thankfulness…
