Moraine Lake is in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada, in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, part of the Rocky Mountains. Some of those peaks are shown in this photo. We waited until early evening to go to the lake and enjoyed the quiet ambience, with the low sunlight picking up highlights in the rock walls and also making it easier to see the various ridges in the higher elevations. The lake is glacier-fed, accounting for the turquoise colour of the water.
Taken in early September 2009 with a Sony DSCF828 camera.
