Artist's Description

Going up the eastern side of Cape Breton Island,Nova Scotia,Canada, on the Cabot Trail. Cape Smokey is the first big headland you encounter when driving north on this side. It’s difficult to take photos on the climb up the Cape, unless you shoot out the window, but there is a nice lookoff place at the top where you can park the car and walk out to the edge and look at where you came from!
The Trail is carved out of the side of the Cape, and in the distance are the various headlands and coastal inlets that reach south into St. Ann’s Bay.The entire area is part of Cape Breton Highlands National Park. The open water is the Atlantic Ocean.

Taken late October 2005 with a Sony DSCF828 camera.
