Artist's Description

Valley of the Ten Peaks is a valley in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada. The Valley contains a range of ten major peaks, each a little over 10,000 feet (3000+ metres), and also contains Moraine Lake, one of the gems of the Rocky Mountains. The ten peaks were originally named by Samuel Allen, an early explorer of the region, and the Valley is reached by following the Moraine Lake road near Lake Louise. In the summer, parking at the Moraine Lake end of the road is almost impossible during the day, so we waited until about 5 PM, which was almost a mistake because of rain clouds coming in and the light levels dropped considerably.
