Artist's Description

Cardus Maximus – Sacred Road – Paestum, Calabria, Italy. This ran for 10-kilometers built by the Greeks, paved by the Romans. Ruts in the stone slabs made by iron-shod wheels are evident in places. One of the great Greek colonial cities founded circa 600BC. I was very large with an estimated 25,000 population.
