Artist's Description

Pastel on Mi Teinte Tex paper (Beige). 55cm x 35cm approx.

This painting is to be auctioned to raise funds for breast cancer and children’s cancer.

My son, Tom, and his father-in-law (Graeme Weatherley) and brothers-in-law (Shane and Dale) have put together a fund raising venture called Tour de Fight Bacc to raise funds by cycling from Adelaide to Shepparton, in memory of Tom’s mother in law (Jan Weatherley) and her daughter (Rebecca) who both lost their fight with cancer – Jan at 55 years of age and Rebecca at 12 years of age. More information about the family and the riders involved (including a photo of Tom) can be seen HERE

Rocky Cape is a very picturesque area in Tasmania and I obtained the reference material earlier this year when visiting Tom and his family who live in Wynyard. The painting will be auctioned at a fund raising evening in Burnie, Tasmania, on the 27th September.

UPDATE – I just learned that the painting made $450 at auction.
