Lost Origin

Spinning like water and air
throughout eternity, people have
become close to the planet,
and its ever-providing nutrients.
Giving and receiving
to and from.

The earth was happy, young,
and healthy, like we.

Lately though
our water has frozen,
the air in us
has been polluted.
We kill ourselves
while we destroy our
earth.
Our Mother can do nothing
to protect herself-
we have taken too much,
returning nothing to her.

Many people preach of
loving and fixing her. But where is the true action?
They wish to cure her deathly illness,
this thing they themselves have created-
with things
we hardly need at all.

She needs
us.

We have taken for granted
her gifts and sacrifices.
Our smoky grey clouds of being
no longer love
the true parts of our nature.
We have spun
the world around.
We hang upside down now-
heads filling with our blood,
filling with the falseness
and disguised happiness
that our current world provides.

We are unknowingly sick,
killing ourselves with those “needs”
for money, religion,
security.
Our home weeps gently as
we laugh in her face.

Forever forgotten-
is our origin.
The communal ways of
our past.
We must be re-taught. We are frozen.

We need
Her.
