Artist's Description

Christ Church is one of the largest constituent colleges of the University of Oxford in England. As well as being a college, Christ Church is also the cathedral church of the diocese of Oxford.

Like its sister college, Trinity College, Cambridge; it was traditionally considered the most aristocratic college of its university. King Charles I made the Deanery his palace and held his Parliament in the Great Hall during the English Civil War.

Alumni of Christ Church include:-
British Prime Ministers: Anthony Eden, Alec Douglas-Home, Sir Robert Peel and William Gladstone.
Theologians: John Wesley (1703–1791), leader of the Methodist movement, and Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury.
Not forgetting: Albert Einstein, Lewis Carroll, Sir William Walton, W. H. Auden, King Edward VII, Edward de Bono and Richard Curtis (famous for writing the screenplays for Mr Bean, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Bridget Jones’s Diary, War Horse, Blackadder and one episode of Dr Who (Vincent and the Doctor).
