Visionaries #1 - Edward R. Murrow - The Fall Of Television
Designed by LucanIndustries
First in a series of shirts dedicated to people in history we should have listened harder to. "Edward R Murrow":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_R_Murrow was a revolutionary, a gentleman, a fighter and a fine dresser. He saw the horrors we faced through misuse of televised media more vividly than most. If the visual treats of the box were upsetting him in the '50s then he'd be completely shattered today.... It's a halftone graphic based on an image of him smoking a cigarette in a dandy suit, but made from the contents of a smashed television I photographed after throwing it off a silo in Collingwood. With some words and circles and fluff and jazz. Really does look better 8 feet tall. !http://images-0.redbubble.net/img/art/size:large/view:main/3510345-2-untitled.jpg! !http://images-1.redbubble.net/img/art/size:large/view:main/3510359-2-untitled.jpg! “Just once in a while, let us exalt the importance of ideas and information. Let us dream to the extent of saying that on a given Sunday night the time normally occupied by Ed Sullivan is given over to a clinical survey on the state of American education. And a week or two later, the time normally used by Steve Allen is devoted to a thorough-going study of American policy in the Middle East. Would the corporate image of their respective sponsors be damaged? Would the shareholders rise up in their wrath and complain? *Would anything happen other than a few million people would have received a little illumination on subjects that may well determine the future of this country and therefore the future of the corporations?* To those who say, “People wouldn’t look, they wouldn’t be interested they’re too complacent, indifferent and insulated” I can only reply: There is, in one reporter’s opinion considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? *Because if they are right and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach. It can illuminate and it can even inspire.* But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it. towards those ends. *Otherwise, it is merely wires and lights, in a box.* Good night, and good luck." *Edward R Murrow*

Good product and even greater customer service.

by Ms M. on Nov 12, 2017

The T shirt that I had bought was a little too large but Redbubble staff were prompt in helping me with the issue and ordered a replacement for me in record time. Customer service is really top notch. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good T and even greater service. The quality of the T shirt itself wasn't as good as I expected. The fabric felt thin between my fingers but I guess that's what differentiates the classic T shirt from the premium quality T shirt. May put in extra coin next time to get the better quality one. Other than that, great novelty product.

Great Service and Products!

by Beverley O. on Oct 11, 2017

I purchased a T-shirt for my boss. It arrived quickly and in very cool packaging. Loved the little clothespin. I had gotten the wrong size and he needed to return it. We were both amazed and how quickly and easy the whole process was. Not to mention that he was asked to simply pass on his too-small T-shirt and was sent a replacement for free. I turned on another office mate to your website and she has started her Christmas shopping already. I will continue to spread the word on all of your great items!!!!
