For my mother

A silver swan encircles my form, its wings outstretched it creates a shelter hovering over me. You my creator of my mind, of my soul. I feel you in my sleep, in my days gone. Touching you, your warmth, your smile. Your words for a child bring you near even if a bridge separates us. I like a stepping stone – I walk yet you are the river laying beyond, catching me if i fall, swimming with me beyond all objects i may befall. The velvet softness of your eyes tell a story, you watch me as i speak, you listen to each word and when all is said you catch each teardrop and wrap them up into your heart. You the silver swan grow more in beauty each day as your wings become my shelter of love, my prism of happiness and above all my mother of love.
