I managed to catch these lovely ground parrots whilst visiting Rainbow Valley, in the northern Territory outback Australia. The valley is a very interesting place to visit because of the outstanding Limestone outcrops weathered into many different shapes. There are flocks of colourful Budgerigars sweeping through in undulating flight but very difficult to take photos of. These Mulga parrots being ground birds are much easier but are very shy. They have a 3 note flute like song.
