We were very impressed with the work at the Sanctuary with dedicated volunteers rescuing Native Koala that have been caught in bush fires, injured on roads or attacked by dogs. There are many lovely photos at the sanctuary with stories of the Koala’s that have been returned to natural environment as close as possible to where they were rescued from. Unfortunately occasionally some are brought back with more injuries or looking malnourished and then they live out there days at the sanctuary. This one in my photograph was found after a bush fire. After being nursed back to health it was decided with veterinary advice that she should last out her days here. Being an older female and disabled with burnt paws and one eye she is happy here and very much loved.
