As we rounded the bend along the coast from the Lighthouse we could see the sand and cliffs stretching ahead of us. It was very quiet because it was still early in the morning. Point Lonsdale is a small town with mainly senior citizens in residence but it swells when families arrive for the school holidays and is very popular.
The beaches near the little town ship not far from Queenscliff are pretty safe and there is a large caravan park on the green lawns along the waterfront that is only open in summer.
It was late November and children still had two to three weeks before the summer break from school.
This side of the coast stretches towards Ocean Grove & beyond. Perhaps not as safe for swimming here more isolated.
