Songs for the night

What songs shall I sing
When the sun goes down?
As it buries the sadness of my day?

What lullaby must I sing
When I close my eyes tonight?
What melody shall I sing you?
To put dreams in your mind,
So that you will awake full of hope.

What praise shall I sing
When the sun comes up tomorrow?
As it raises my hopes with each ray?
Shall I play an African drum
Drowning each layer of darkness
With a beat so strong
So strong it shall return kinder?

I shall welcome the morning
With a joyful dance
With a song of praise
I shall expect the morning
To bring me word
Of unfailing Love.
