We explored Termessos, with no Idea what we would see.
The climb amongst the ruins was exhilarating….
The ruins were in situ, au naturale….. not reconstructed for the tourists.
Actually, because some effort was required to get there, we came across very
We had to scramble through bushes and undergrowth,
and climb some rather steep tracks..
But nothing could prepare us
for the view of the Amphitheatre.
Perched on the top of the mountain, with the silhouette of the surrounding peaks
as the backdrop.
We stood in Awe.
I felt moved to tears.
In my life, I have never been in such a place… so exquisitely beautiful….
This moment was the highlight of our travels in Turkey.
The ruins have survived from 300 BC (2,300 years old….!!!)
