Color My Heart

It lay in my bosom and taps a steady beat,
the color all but gone…
It does keep me going, thats always a good thing,
but it hates to be alone…

It looks if one could see, lacking and drab in color,
sinewy hues of subtle grey…
Tiny holes seeping steady, pricked in time gone past,
letting the color just drain away…

It once was the juiciest red, sweet crimson shadows,
with color naught could thwart…
But now lay in shades of grey, heralding the four winds,
is there no one to color my heart…?

Artist's Description

I posted a photo of a piece of wood and theres a little heart of no color in the middle. My friend Sandy offered to color that heart for me as I am not able to on this PC that I have..(thats my friend!)…That is what sparked this writing =) Please view Cedar’s Heart" to see in part the inspiration :O)
