The Sad Siren

It is here she makes him her unwilling friend
As he, of his love long lost is dreaming,
Of those sorrowful eyes, gentle piercing & gleaming;
And of the hopeful thoughts & letters that he sends;
And his heart calls out to the stars – to mend
That which is broken.
And to light the path which could comfort him, but
They grow dim, as the clouds roll over
And blind them.

And so, she makes him her unwilling friend
Cries crocodile tears & unveils her llife story.
Then the crying stops & their words hang still:
To roll in her caress, feelings excerbated by a demons will.

He cries out, but not for his glory
But for the sense that all around him is stopping
His senses now frozen, paralyzed in time
She stills his heart, forever guiding, listening,
Her yearning eyes watch, silently mocking.

And so, she made him her unwilling friend
And stole his hopeful thoughts & his letters, left unsent;
She monopolised with the stories she had to tell
Till all the words she hypnotically uttered
Worked their poison into his blood red heart;
Entangling like a thorny briar, he no longer sings
And in his paralyzed silence
He stares out, for in his suffocating stasis
Every word she speaks feels so comforting
He stares out, waiting for the beating of his heart
To stop.

Then for her, he is but another childish whim;
To quell the soul of feeling alone
To consolidate all in a lovers moan
Among successions of lovers
She has conquered him.
