The Fall.

You’ve fallen.
Fallen so far, the tips
Of my fingers can’t
Even brush past what you were.
Fallen so deep
The colors of your eyes,
The presense of your soul,
Is draped in
That weary kind of darkness.

Fallen-

So inexplicably low
That my tears
[Because I still cry for you my dear]
Can’t even hold
A glimpse
Of your memory.

But still-

I paint your portait as
Words cast the image.
A simple smile,
Reflective eyes
A dimple-
Or two.
A nose and the thoughtful
Furrow of your brow.

Your voice
And echo from your balcony

Telling me
Wishing me
Begging me

Goodbye
Happiness
Forgiveness

As you fell five stories
From where you were.
With me.

With me.

The Fall.
