On My Side

The rain comes down like sadness, it’s all around,
The sun shines through the madness, without a sound.
Silence brings it’s own state of depression-
Withdrawn, into a slow mindless regression.
And alas! It is me, the silent one
Finding refuge in the storm from which I run.

The clouds, they are not black, they’re emerald green,
The greenest of all greens that I have seen.
The brightest lightening slices through the night
And I fall upon myself, consumed with fright.
But I shall not run, and neither shall I hide,
For sadness, is always on my side.
