A photography based digital art image captured near the top of Blue Knob Mountain near Claysburg / Pavia, Pennsylvania. This is just down from Chappell Field, on the Pavia side, for those who know the area.
I’ve always been fascinated by split rail fences, I guess from my many trips to the Civil War battlefields of Gettysburg, PA, so the first time I visited Blue Knob the sight of the fences really interested me.
There’s something about the lighting in this particular area that, though I’ve routinely stopped and snapped away, in nearly all kinds of weather, all times of the year, I’ve never really felt like I captured the sense of timelessness and peace that I feel when I’m there. I hope this image, with the help of lots of editing in Photoshop and many other programs, comes close.
Image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens.
