Artist's Description

Things look very different behind closed doors. People don’t want to know ‘the reality’ of what real life is like, it’s “too dark”, “too emotional” , “too unsettling”.
There are things in which I can’t convey to anyone. I try, but never am I truly “heard” or “understood”. One can flower your online page with smiley emoticons, a thumbs up, a heart, x’s and o’s, complement you on your art, etc…one can play the role of the hero, of the family, the father, the brother, the mother, the lover and even the child…but no one really knows what is underneath it all, not if you’re not living it and witnessing it with your own eyes.
The most precious and valuable gift you could ever give someone is YOUR TIME. Nothing is more beautiful and precious than that. Those with money find it easier to throw it at you than to spend any actual time. I am tired of investing my mind/heart/soul into those who can’t stick to their word. After all ACTIONS do speak louder than any WORDS. But what if the words hurt more than abusive actions of the past?
Neglect, abandonment, betrayal, setting someone up using everything against them that was precious for the ultimate control in power to keep you silent, to keep you weak is that not abuse?
If someone is fully aware of what stress can do to someone and they turn their verbal/mental/emotional radar on high and aim those action-less but razor blade-worded torpedoes at you, is that not the same as physical abuse? I have had every form of abuse there is, physical, mental, sexual, emotional, verbal.
Let me just say a bruise heals, the rest…they stick with you for life.

There has to be an end…a reason why…a reward for living this way, where I smile and nod, play the part of everything is fine and I am so strong, when in reality, I am living in a time and place where the only people I can trust are the ones I could never mention, you know who you are, and as you know I keep you secret, as even you would be used against me somehow.

I used to dream of leaving this prison called lyme, I used to believe that when it came to an emergency you would be there.
Now I know I am the common denominator, that it’s the same story replaying from my past over and over again.

When I speak my heart ‘they’ translate the beauty into ugliness, and twist and morph it all into a reality that never really existed in the first place.

I dare not say a word.
Can you feel it in my eyes?
