Railway News...

Since this account will concern itself with Railway related products and works, I thought it prudent to write a short account of two of the more interesting events of the past couple of months…

The first is sad and a desperate situation: the beleaguered Sittingbourne and Kemsley Light Railway is trying fanatically to keep itself running after almost 100 years of operation. The reason? The owner of the paper mill the railway once served, Finnish M-Real, wants to sell the land to developers and the Railway is not pertinent for inclusion in their developments…the Line has launched a fighting fund and is lobbying government bodies to help out. One wishes them the best of luck.

The second and happier piece of Railway news is Tornado succeeding admirably in its main line test…and at last being painted in an exceedingly well done BR Green Livery, complete with early style British Railways lettering on the tender.

Merry Christmas to all, and I hope you have a great New Year.
