Eyes Wide Open

Eyes wide open

Body shut down

Sleeping

I hate these dreams

Knowing what awaits

Screaming out my Sisters name

Is that you; is that you

Coming through my door

Screaming for my Sister and her smile

Trying to get up, wake up

Screaming to wake up

But silence meets the eyes

In my room

Silence

Hearing sounds; unable to block ears

Body shut down
Eyes wide open

Please wake up

Staring at lone
Wooden chairs
Silence
Feeling violation
But no one’s there
Invisible Slipping through
Cracks and darkness
Why can’t I move?

In the spaces I feel dead

Fill the spaces

Fill my night times

Fill those dark and lonesome

Spaces

Living dreams through eyes awake
Living night mares through paralysis
Living life unaware

Eyes Wide Open
