Nostalgia

Feeling nostalgic; like I miss it
Confused as to why; I hated it then
Missing it now

Simple things; simple summers and
Daisy chains plaited through hair
Sun rays; wear and tear

Walking back from his; against the wind
Shoes so tight they bled
Skirt so short it showed

High as kites; along that road; school bag
Over bum; why did I wear it?
Heat filled tresses; longing for summer dresses

Half way home; cricket grounds and bats men
Umpire, strikes and pollen
Sneezing through the breeze

Hay fever; hazy eyes; and pupils smoked
Pacing slow, left alone, walked to his
Walking home; nearly home

Black door; white car; front porch
I hated it then; I miss it now
Feeling nostalgic; feeling tears a burning

Missing people places; youth, skirts
Girls with blonde hair; and plastic faces
Pretending; we were a like; talking tripe and shite

Missing evenings in fields; alcohol induced fall outs
She said, that you said, that he said, that I said
Doing anything for friends; apologising on knees

Simple things; simple summers and
Daisy chains plaited through hair
Sun rays; wear and tear

Nostalgia
