Artist's Description

I found this delightful weed and decided it would be fun to experiment with bokeh macro shots. This is the outcome.

Artist’s Commentary:
I love how soothing this image is to me. The combination of aqua green and water make me think of a spa or of soothing relaxation.

I shot this during a period where I was obsessed with bokeh. Bokeh is a photography term, taken from a Japanese word, to describe the aesthetic quality of blur – more commonly used to describe the out of focus points of light. In order to create bokeh, the artist deliberately uses a shallow depth of field (DoF). You can see here that I chose to have just the tiniest slice of the dandelion in focus and most of the image out of focus. This shot was a lot of fun for me to compose and think about. I hope you enjoyed learning a little something about my technique.
