Cemetery

I felt a tremor
peacefully reverberating
the steps
of others

That have walked
This very path

My skin tingled

Crisp
Alive

I gazed upon their
beds
neatly lined

And noticed
the little things -

The care
The despair
The aged
The child
The broken
The overgrown

A toy sat upon
the bed of a two year old
his bed head was inscribed
with words that brought me to my knees

At his end
I tried to imagine him
And they
Loving him
Saying goodbye; son

If the universe conveys all
Than this day
It is that; I
Saw
I felt
Your loss
And the anguish of

Goodnight
