Frozen Memories

My muse was walking and talking
and holding my hand tightly
when a gusty wind attacked
turning our brolly inside out

Leaving us
shivering wet
with a conviction – this has happened before

A vague recollection
swept us into cyclonic circles
then dumped us in front of the freezer
with a thud of THUNDER
shaking the freezer door open

Neatly packed
layer upper layer
laid colourful icetrays
with teeny labels
Dates, People, Places
and Emotions

My horror memories
had been poured
into memory trays
then dated and frozen

My muse was ranting and raving
and shaking me at the shoulders

As I pondered the thawing process

I screamed at my muse
“They are frozen for a reason
and I know exactly why”

During the period of freezing
I was incapable of dealing
so I postponed
the Dates, People, Places
and Emotions
with a cunning frosty-procrastinating

Believing that one day
My strength would be boldly -

thawing

pouring

sipping

and dealing
