Window Washer

My finger glides across the indentation on my palm
where my chin has been pressed all morning
in the window to my right there is a raccoon eyed woman
staring through the layers of my life
her movement is methodical and very slow
I keep in time, shedding piece by piece
Till a pail of fear wells-up right through my brain
he came from the street below
his mission to remove all the dirty secrets
no smudge or trace or lines of layers
he washed away the scared woman
