Artist's Description

Iglesia de San Jaime with its distinctive blue tiled hats makes a stunning picture. Dating from around 1740 the church was built in conjunction with Benidorm’s growth as a fishing town, tuna being the main catch (and the adoption of Benidorm’s patron saint – Our Lady of the Sorrows). You’ll note quite a few churches around the Costa Blanca built in a similar Neo classical style.
