note to self: walmart sucks

so i had baught a tripod from walmart a couple months ago, and here i am, in my basement, setting up for one of my first indoor shoots, client right in front of me…i clip on the camera, do a double check to make sure its secure. then i move the tripod slightly to the left….BAM camera falls lens first to the cement floor!

the weight from the flash tore the base of the part where the flash slid in to secure it to the camera right off. and my lens detatched. it like, seperates where the manual focus handling is.

they gave me a loaner Nikon D50 til monday, but after that…basically…nothing. it’ll take 6-8 weeks to repair. my friend jenny is going to lend me her Canon Rebel in the meantime when shes not using it for school….but i’m choked right up.

me and a friend are going into walmart tomorrow [oct 29th] to see if they can reimburse me for the repair cost from the damages. Hopefully they can pay for a new lens…technically the lens still works but i can’t keep working with a lens that i have to constantly clip back together when it falls slightly out of place..

dear walmart,
i hate you.
