Artist's Description

When my 17-year-old cat Cheetah died, I was forlorn. A couple of months later, my kids and I decided to go to a “Cat Fancier’s” show at the local fairgrounds. What we found was overpriced “purebred” cats. We left there, and headed straight for the pound. We looked at a lot of cats. This little gal caught my son’s fancy. I heard him say, “Uh, Mom. I think this cat wants us.” I turned to see a beautiful 7-month-old cat dubbed “Little Foot” (because of her dainty feet), vigorously licking my son’s nose. That was it. We chose her.
We then found out that it was her second go-round in the pound. One person who had previously adopted found out he was allergic to cats and returned her. She would have been euthanized soon if we hadn’t taken her with us.

She is the sweetest cat I’ve ever known—my hubby’s chest is her favorite spot. She loves licking noses, fingers, and chins. Sometimes even toes. Her coat is as soft as a downy chick, and a beautiful tortoiseshell-tabby. We changed her name to Chloe.
