I will try to give you a couple of tips for macro work.
first think i found you need lots of light. Using a small aparture {big number} this will increase the depth of field, but small hole makes for long shutter speeds.
watch the back grounds, if you got stuff in back ground that is of same colour then you could loose impact of your subject. {this image has back ground colour same as flowers}
I also try and put subjects, {flowers} parrallel to the camera, so more of them are in focus. If you look at the 3 flowers in middle of image, you can see the lower one is slightly out of focus, if you move around so that all three are the same distance or parallel if means more will be in focus.

I hope you understand what i’m trying to say.

I don’t know if you saw macro photography
I think I get what you are saying.
I have been trying to play with the aparture, instead of the shutter speed like I was. I seem to having better results.
my flash doen’t seem to be to good to work with macro so I am going to have to try relecting the light abit more to see if that helps,
I am having lots of fun trying.
